At Kind Screen, we have created a gamified, research-backed learning journey for children and adults to work on social emotional skills (#LifeSkills) in a fun way! Kids get to lead and adults don’t have to prepare! Children and adults work TOGETHER using:
1) Discussion guides for situations from movies and books. For example, using Kung Fu Panda or Toy Story to learn about #perseverance, #kindness, and #selfcontrol.
2) Reflection exercises tailored to personal situations.
3) #Off_the_phone! Take action! Complete mini-projects within a week and then report back to get #medals and #badges :)
Young people are studying for jobs that don't exist yet! According to various well-respected research, social-emotional skills,"Life Skills" or "Soft Skills" are a key part of happiness and life fulfillment. Kind Screen offers a fun, gamified way to connect and work on #LifeSkills.
Kids ages 8-12 in the US spend on average 4.5 hours in front of screens per day (Common Sense Media census). Screens are not going away, but we can take advantage of screen time with Kind Screen. We develop and curate quality content that leverages good stories from media to play games, complete activities, strengthen connections between adults and kids, and work on #LifeSkills
